League of Legends (shortly LoL, meaning legendary league) is a video game developed and published by Riot Games. [2] It went on the market on October 27, 2009. [3] The game was based on the Warcraft III map, Defense of the Ancients. [4] The chief designer of the game is Steve Feak, who designed the Defense of the Ancients (DotA) map.
